As a wedding catering company, we are always trying to keep up with the latest food trends to offer our clients the best and most memorable culinary experiences. With 2023 already underway, we’ve compiled a list of the top five wedding food trends that we predict will be a hit this year.

  1. Plant-Based Menus

Plant-based menus have been on the rise for the past few years and we expect this trend to continue in 2023. Many couples are opting for full vegan or vegetarian menus. This trend will likely see an increase in creative plant-based dishes.

  1. Sharing is Caring

Sharing courses have seen a dramatic increase over the last few years, but covid came and nipped that trend in the bud. Sharing is back! And its here to stay, with more and more couple choosing relaxed sharing boards for their guests. Sharing courses can be dramatic and create a real talking point for your guests. See our sharing boards of Chicken shawarma with tahini yogurt, lemon couscous and pomegranate, grilled aubergine, hummus, roasted peppers and Lebanese bread for a real showstopper!

  1. Food From The Region

With an increasing focus on sustainability and supporting local businesses, we expect to see more couples opting for locally-sourced ingredients in their wedding menus. This trend will likely include locally-grown produce, locally-raised meat, and locally-made cheeses. Our chefs source some fantastic ingredients from our local region and are always on the lookout for more fantastic local suppliers to grace our menus.

  1. Global Flavours

While classic wedding dishes will always have their place, couples are increasingly looking to incorporate their cultural backgrounds and travels into their wedding menus. We are seeing particular interests in Indian-inspired spices, Thai green curry’s, Gochujang , teriyaki and Shawarmas.  Couples are bringing a taste of the world to their wedding day. This trend allows for a unique and memorable dining experience for guests.

      5. Dessert displays

Wedding cakes will never go out of style, but couples are also incorporating creative dessert displays into their weddings. Check out the Mulberry Signature Dessert Board that has been incredibly popular as of late. It includes; miniature doughnuts, macarons, chocolate brownie squares, white chocolate bark with raspberry powder, honeycomb, berries, broken chocolate chip cookies and edible flowers…
