When Ferrari unveils a motorised masterpiece, it’s not just an event – it’s an experience. For the launch event of the 12 Cilindri at Carrs Ferrari in Exeter, the stage was set for an occasion infused with the essence of Italian elegance, sophistication and luxury. Tasked with elevating the launch event through a flavour-fuelled adventure, Mulberry Catering Company delivered a culinary
performance. Commissioned by the renowned Genius Progretti of Italy, the brief was to serve an Italian-themed stand-up feast for a guest list of 150, expertly blending authenticity with indulgence.
Champagne & Canapés
As guests made their way into the exclusive showroom, they were greeted with a glass of Champagne and a selection of exquisite canapés that set the tone for an evening of unrivalled craftmanship. Each carefully curated canapé reflected Italy’s rich culinary heritage, offering a refined touch that expertly aligned with the launch event. From porcini and chicken arancini with mushroom ketchup to the delicate balance of pea and truffle bruschetta, subtly spiced chilli and garlic king prawn skewers to Parma ham and smoked cheddar rarebit, every bite offered a gourmet pit stop. Meanwhile, the atmosphere remained electric with a series of captivating performances by singers and dancers, choreographed to perfection to mirror the dynamic movement of the Ferrari brand.
Bar & Drinks
It goes without saying, no Italian-style feast is complete without the finest drink selection. Mulberry Catering Co’s full-service bar offered a curated selection of Italian-inspired beverages, including classic negronis and lemon gin & tonics. Not to mention our custom-crafted Cilindri Fizz, a vibrant Aperol and orange cocktail designed exclusively for the launch, encompassing the zest, boldness and passion of both Ferrari and Italian culture.
Bowl Food
As the event progressed, Mulberry Catering Co further elevated the dining experience with a selection of roaming bowl foods, bringing guests an opportunity to enjoy the taste of Italy’s diverse yet delicious flavours. The starter bowls included creamy burrata with heritage tomatoes and fresh pesto, spinach and ricotta ravioli finished with aged balsamic and fresh mackerel pâté with lemon and pickled cucumber, finished with a caviar garnish. The main bowls stole the spotlight, with slow-cooked beef shin
in red wine, served with herby new potatoes and crispy onions, offering robust yet mouth-watering flavours. Roasted aubergine layered with mozzarella and basil offered a hearty, vegetarian option, beautifully complemented by a rocket and pine nut salad. The fillet of seabass, paired with a delicate lemon and fennel salad and a velvet fish velouté offered a nod towards the coastline.
Desserts & Espresso
A trio of decadent desserts rounded off the evening, served canapé-style with rich espresso. A traditional Amalfi lemon tart boasted citrus notes and whipped vanilla mascarpone, providing a refreshing end to a culinary road trip. Shot-glass tiramisus delivered the perfect caffeine hit with coffee-infused indulgence, while the chocolate and hazelnut torte catered to those who sought a delectable finale.
